Katriona Gilmore and Jamie Roberts are an exciting upcoming acoustic act, blending contemporary singer-songwriter styles with complex rhythmic arrangements to create a new kind of roots fusion. With a wealth of original material in both vocal and instrumental genres, they combine sharp musical ability and considered harmonies with a fresh slant on today's folk scene.

Katriona Gilmore - violin / vocals / guitar

Katriona has been writing songs (and the occasional tune) and playing clubs around Hertfordshire (her natural habitat) since the age of fourteen with her dad, guitarist Byron Giles. She has an extensive track record of performance ranging from the smallest folk clubs to backing The Troggs at the Royal Albert Hall with the Angels of the South string quartet. Since moving to Leeds to study in 2004, her songwriting has escalated wildly in several directions and is only restricted by the fact that her Les Paul is not made particularly welcome in smaller venues. Katriona is currently playing violin and singing with Tiny Tin Lady and occasionally with Angels of the South.

Jamie Roberts
- vocals / guitar

Jamie, Barnsley born and bred, has been playing guitar since he was fifteen and is self-taught. He also plays drums, trombone, piano, banjo and does a mean 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' on the violin but has so far restricted this talent to the living room. Brought up in a musical family, Jamie's parents both play and teach while his sister Kathryn fronted folk-rock band Equation and now tours with guitarist Sean Lakeman. Experimenting with different percussive styles and tunings, Jamie's playing is constantly evolving to fit in with his own compositions.
